Description:

Before the introduction of the LCT01 load cell testing instrument, troubleshooting a load cell could take 10-15 minutes or even longer, tediously taking lots of measurements at different points, and making calculations.  With the LCT01, the whole  process of administering a full sequence of detailed tests and their automatic interpretation is reduced to less than one minute, without removing the load cell from the installation.  The only information the operator needs to enter is whether the load cell is a 4 or 6 conductor sensor, and the load cell’s mV/V output (to tenths of volts, for example, “2.9 mV/V”).   Load cell characteristics and test results and are conveniently stored in the unit’s memory until shutdown.

A 16x2 alphanumeric LCD display guides the operator through all test stages and clearly displays the results.  The LCT01 is fully computerized, and is designed for users ranging from non-technical operators to professional scale technicians.  The battery-powered LCT01 can evaluate a single load cell, by connecting its leads to the tester, or an entire scale installation, by connecting the summing box leads.  Once connected, this lightweight, hand-held unit hits the road running, performing and reporting on a whole series of tests including resistances between various pairs of leads (including sense), cable shield to each lead, resistance between load cell body and all lines, and a dynamic test of the load cell, including load cell input voltage, output voltage, and output voltage expressed as a percentage of full scale.  A buzzer and LED alert the user to any suspicious result.  An approximated linearity test can also be performed.

Load Cell Central’s LCT01 is encased in a rugged ABS enclosure for durability in the field.  A battery-saving feature shuts the unit down automatically after 5 minutes of idle time.
